Stress & Anxiety

Stress & AnxietySome of my clients benefit from a regular monthly hypnosis session, in which we can focus on specific issues. I sometimes like to think of it as a ‘mental massage’

Stress is a major fact of life in today’s fast-moving world. We all seem to be busy juggling work, families and other commitments, and it can sometimes feel quite overwhelming. Too often we find that our mental and physical health starts to suffer, and we then find it really difficult to cope.

A certain amount of stress is actually a good thing, as being bored and unfulfilled can be very stressful in itself. However, when we have too much on our plate, it can easily result in us being overloaded and ‘burned out’.

Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully relaxing treatment that can calm the nervous system, and promote feelings of well-being and positivity.

My treatment room is situated in the peace and quiet of the Suffolk countryside and many of my clients say that as soon as they enter the room, they start to feel so much better and more relaxed already. Even after the treatment, you can retain this feeling of tranquillity and calm by listening to a hypnosis download which I will especially record for you, that you can use every day for the ultimate in stress relief.

I like to incorporate elements of mindfulness in my treatment, this refers to being ‘in the moment’, an awareness and focus on the present, a simple but very effective way of stilling the mind. Some of my clients benefit from a regular monthly hypnosis session, in which we can focus on specific issues – this seems to have the effect of helping them to be able to manage stress, and I sometimes like to think of it as a ‘mental massage’.

Whilst it may be possible to examine our lives and work out ways that we can reduce the stress in our lives, it is perhaps much more realistic to find ways that we can deal with it, and hypnotherapy can help a great deal in this respect.

  • Work Related Stress & IBS*

    Mrs B, Bury St Edmunds

*"I sought help with Wendy after finding myself in a position of work-related stress and exhaustion which I think was manifesting itself in mini panic attacks and culminated in two months off work. This was a situation that was totally alien to me as a strong-minded individual who has always worked full-time in positions of authority whilst being a mum to my 15 year old son. I had also suffered from IBS for a number of years and naturally the period of stress has exacerbated my stomach pains which were occurring on a daily basis. I also felt frightened that I would not be able to return to work and had subsequently lost confidence in my abilities.

I did not know what to expect on my first visit to Wendy and felt a little nervous of hypnotherapy. However, Wendy immediately put me at ease. I don't know how it worked but since that first session I have not experienced any of my IBS symptoms and have felt much more relaxed in general. I went for a second session about a month later just prior to returning to work which consolidated my progress and I successfully returned to work.

Wendy provided me with a personalised CD which I listen to on a daily basis. I find this incredibly helpful in my daily life and it immediately relaxes me - it is a bit like a 'comfort blanket'.

Hypnotherapy has indeed been life-changing for me and I would wholeheartedly recommend it."*
